Hi everybody!
I would like to get an idea of what the average (real world) gas mileage Miata owners have been getting? Before the zoom-zoom crowd loudly reminds me the car was designed as a SPORTS car and mpg be damn'd, I know,I know,I know . But EPA mileage and what the car really get are always different. Has any daily commuters (or racers leisurely returning from the track) manage to get 35-40 mpg? I also mean mpg on a tank of gas, not what a hyper-miler managed to squeeze out on a couple mile course. I would think a small light car with a 1.6L-2.0L engine would get better than 25 to 28 mpg EPA listing. Is it just a matter of engine tuning and gear ratios? Anyway I think it would be interesting to all to know REAL WORLD MPG from a large group of Miata Fans!
