Good call, Initial_E, I think I would take it easy for awhile and stick to the Metro and the ferries. I'll just wait 'til I'm your age and buy it a new one, just like you did
I've been to Hong Kong a few times, I just had no idea owning a car there could be so expensive. I know the gas prices are high. It's similar in Japan not to mention some parts of Europe. As for insurance, I would have expected it to be high, just not impossible! Of course, HK doesn't have it as bad as Singapore (150% import tax, let alone other expenses, yikes!). R33, I've never been to Malaysia, but I'd like to visit next time I'm in Asia.
