Okay, the original problem was that I fried the ignition switch.
Picked up a new one at the junkyard, replaced the fried one... still wouldn't start, decided that the ignition switch was just a symptom of some other problem... (oh, also, when my switch fried, I noticed my tach was jumping, like it was shorting out) No fuses were blown, and the ECU didn't throw any codes.
Checked the Helms manual, and found that when the car is running, the wires that were fried on the ignition switch are connected to the coil and the ignitor and the battery. Put a volt meter on the ignition wires, and they seemed okay, all had a positive voltage with the key in the on position (which lead me to believe that the wires themselves weren't shorted).
Replaced the coil, and the car still wouldn't start.
Replaced the ignitor, and it still wouldn't start...
That's pretty much where I'm at now... I don't think I'm getting spark, but I haven't been able to check because I don't have anyone to help me... Also, I'm smelling un-burnt gas when I try and start it.
I may try to replace the whole dizzy and see if that helps... I'd rather not though, because I'm going to have to turn around and buy a new dizzy for my d16y8 in a few months.
Any ideas would really help.
