Sorry about not replying sooner, however, I have been away.
The raised rectangular section was covered in bare metal foil and burnished down with a tooth pick over the lettering. The valve covers were then painted and left to dry. once dry 12000 grit micromesh on a polishing block was used gently sand the black paint off the top of the lettering and reveal the BMF underneath.
