Back in 2006 I got a very basic scanner and free software.

And now I need something a bit better. I want something I can run on my laptop still that does multiprotocol and at least enhanced gm and fords.
I may get Palmer's scan XL Pro.
Anyone have some other ideas or pc based tools you like?
