2nd on the ~3oz. in the crank.
I would suggest draining it into a measuring cup or graduated cylinder to make sure you are putting in about the same amount which came out, so as not to overfill. If only 1oz. or so comes out, then you should still be OK adding about 3oz. in case the oil was low in the first place.

Some manuals suggests pouring the oil into the intake side of the compressor, but I have not had much luck with this. Seems to only hold about 1oz before it starts coming out. Then it really comes out when the compressor is turned into position when bolting it back on and just makes a mess.

Also pour out and measure the oil from the old dryer and follow the same rule. Seemed to work OK for me so far....AC has been blowing cold since April here in TX.
