Actually if he was travelling a t a very low speed he could very weel snap the timing belt and all the car woild do is just die, not violently or anything just all of a sudden stop. I did it on my 90 accord about 5 years ago. I was cruising to my gf house doing about 20 mph down the street, then all fo a sudden my car shuts off. I was like wtf. I pull it off to the side of the road sorta coasted. And I try to start it again. Nothuing at all no sounds or any of that just the electrical flicker. So i couldnt think either. A budd of my came over and told me it was th timing belt. well wehn the mechanic opened her up he said i was one lucky guy cause none of the valves bent or anyhting, he said it was cause I was at such a low speed. So it might have been his timing belt, But i see he figured out the problem :sun:
