You just need some regular old insulated, thin wire. Or just go parts store and tell them you need some 18gage wire. The sending unit for the water temp gauge go's in the place of the stock unit, which is in the lower intake manifold to the left of the distributor. You can ground it to any metal surface connected to frame. Just loosen some bolt in engine bay and tighten it back down on wire. Take the positve wire to some power source that is only on when car is running or when lights are on. If you dont then the gauges light will be on all the time and maybe drain battery. I hooked mine to the light that illuminates cigerette tray. Not sure if the fox body mustangs have a light there though. Hope this helps some of course try it at your own risk.
