Gainesbourg, I am having the same experience right now with my S27 high tech decals for my Mclaren MP4/5B. What I have done is to soak them in very hot water instead of warm water, and I'm soaking them for 20 seconds. When I'm holding them in the water, I make sure my tweezer only touches the clear backing, not the decal itself. Then, I set the decal on the model, still handling it by the clear carrier film, then apply a coat of Micro-sol, let it dry overnight, and remove the carrier film the next day with tape.

What I think is happening is the clear carrier film is releasing itself from the decal paper but the decal itself is not, resulting in fragile decals.
