Hey,

i know this post is coming late considering when the thread was posted, but i just now saw it and have information for you.

Take that appraisal slip and highlight the quoted price of the vehicle. When you do that, and show it to them, they'll jump and instantly begin offering you a better settlement.

This is because of two things.

First, you can ask for the top price of the appraisal in court, and you'll get it. Second, you can enter a second claim for the statutory maximum in your state for damages due to this happening, which means you can squeeze anywhere from 3 to 5 grand more from them for pain and suffering, lost wages, inconvenience, etc.

Second, if the court judge doesn't award you those damages there, you can go to small claims court and collect the damages pay there.
