Problem solved. And yes I cleared the codes with my scan tool several times. I went to the dealership, no more patience or time on hand. It ended up being the rear knock sensor wire grounding to the transmission half shaft. The tech said I probably did it when I changed my power steering pump lines because the wire was in the wrong place period. It probably has been grounding for a while intermittently which may account for the gas mileage drop. When I changed the plug wires I somehow made the wire have permanent contact with the transmission. I need to pay more attention to detail.
Side note, The tech thought that my wires were new and said that my car ran real smooth. I told them the were old and he said not to change them at all. I have duralast wires on them that I put on when I first got the car and they have almost 60,000 miles on them and only cost $19. Just putting in a good word for autozone parts, even though I belive in quality over price when it comes to cars. They are excellent for the price.
