Thats the way all fuel level sending units work. When you are parked on a slope, all your fuel goes to either the front or back of the tank, depending on how your parked. Your fuel level sending unit does not move with the fuel however, causing a false reading when parked on a slope. As you drive on a straight rode, the fuel level sending unit adjusts because the fuel level evens out in the fuel tank. Like mentioned above, its completely normal for just about any vehicle, not just the Lucerne
