generally speaking with proper tuning, either form of FI can be relatively reliable. but in most cases, the jrsc has proven to be more problem-free. dont' know how much different it is for a civic, but installing a jrsc on a prelude is a bitch coz it's such a tight area to work with plus you have to relocate the oil filter, bend the brake lines and all that crap. but that's a prelude, not so sure about the civic. a good 8 to 10 hour job at least particularly if you're not the most technically-endowed. it's not like installing an exhaust or intake but it's not impossible for someone who has a fair bit of knowledge about cars. me and a friend installed mine. took a week but it wasn't too bad.
