oil consumption
I've got a 98 base prelude and its doing the same thing. I've had it for over a year, but just found out about the oil consumption in April. I've taken it to the dealer twice. They told me to drive another 1000 miles and they'll check it one more time. When I asked them what would happen, they said we'll wait and see. It consumes a little over 1qt per 1000 miles, similar to yours, but the dealer told me this is certainly not normal. I've been talking to people about it, so far the only thing anyone can come up with is that the piston rings are shot, but with only 50k miles that seems hard to believe.
