the difference is not going to be that great. the only difference is that the gas is not going to have laminar air flow, making it a bit more turbulent, but this will not affect things too much. its especially not worth worrying about it if you have to go to a lot of trouble to get mandral bending. just get the crushed piping and you will be just as happy.
