98 Crown Vic P71 Rod Knock

I have a 98 CVPI, 4.6L with a rod knock due to oil loss from a broken oil cooler line. What's the chances of replacing the conn rod bearings without pulling the motor for emergency repairs? The car was driven less than a mile between the initial hose break to shut down. I know it's not proper, but I need the car now until I can pull the heads on a 95 Lincoln 4.6.
