Re: '98 Regal.... no oil pressure after changed oil

Thanks Airjer.

The oil was definitely cloudy. so much that is surprised the repair guy.
He had to change the oil 3 times to get it to come out clear after working on it and he said he never saw that before. When he pulled the drain plug the antifreeze came out first (at least 1 cup full I think), and then cloudy oil came out.
I know there was no antifreeze in the oil prior to him working on it and I think that was caused by the sequence or method he used to do the work, not by a leak.

Later I found out he drives cars very hard cause I was stranded at his place after my car wasn't ready, so he gave me a ride back and I was surprised how far he he wound up the rpm's in his truck (with cut off exhaust) and took off with a loud roar.
I suspect he drove my car the same way,,, with the dirty, diluted oil in it, and he said it seemed to get hot during his test run before I arrived,,, and he didn't know why.

Bad Main bearings..... oh..........
If it's really bad, do you think he's liable to fix it right?
He advertises in our local paper and also works full time.

He used a small hand grinder to clean up the old intake gasket and metal surfaces.
So maybe there is leftover gasket material that fell down inside or a thick layer of oil/antifreeze goo blocking the oil pickup tube or blocking an oil passage.
Maybe contaminated oil could mess up the oil pump and sheer off a pin or clog it up.
Oil Pressure relief valve stuck open?
Maybe he used the wrong type of oil filter with oil channels in the wrong place blocking the flow.

I sure didn't want anyone putting in used oil but I didn't know about that until later and he did that without my knowledge. He seemed surprised by the engine noise, like it suddenly started doing it after shutting it off and changing the oil.
It was fully warmed up with warm tires when I got there to pick it up. He'd been driving it a while to finish flushing the cloudy oil issue that he created.
I didn't hear it run after the initial work earlier that day so I wonder if he messed it up hours ago or if the problem suddenly appeared after changing the oil.
The guy was working at a local GM dealership until they closed the place.
So he should have the training, but maybe it's too late now.
