Turning a B16a2 into LS/Vtec

Ok, a good friend of mine has a JDM b16a2. He has cam gears, type-r ecu, and a brand new tranny. It is in a 96 civic coupe.

The problem is: Its not fast enough. He's constantly pulling upper 15's in the 1/4.

My idea is: Since he has the b16 head, why not just get an LS block and put that in place of his b16 block. Run the oil line, and you've got LS/VTEC. Maybe get some new pistons...

Am I forgetting anything, or isnt that all? How much do you figure the block would cost? Also, we know a mechanic who would do the job for a relatively cheap price, but if you have some estimates, throw them at me.
