I would just add that to me, ignorance also includes not wanting to know about something. A person can be uneducated, but still very intelligent. There are many valid reasons that a person may not be educated, but I feel that there is no excuse (these days) for one to be ignorant. A person can also be very educated, yet very ignorant.
For example, one of the guys I work with is highly educated and very bright as far as business goes, but he has some completely insane theories on society and the world. Why? Because he has chosen not to learn/study/understand. This is ignorance.
By the same token, being rich and being classy are not the same thing even though many people feel that they are synonyms. To state the obvious, the poorest person in a room may have the most class, while the richest may be a total weasel.
