Nice to see another 240SX in Florida...6k is not bad...I practically gave my car away at 6.5k w/quality mods and no problems w/it whatsoever...
I recommend that you get an Injen intake or fabricate a custom one and relocate your battery to the back if your hardcore...running the intake across the radiator is not the best method so running it down the left side (if you are facing the engine) down where the battery is happens to be a better method due to cold air actually getting up in there....
Dont go universal...it's cheap yes but quality and HP wise...you wont get the same as spending the $
