I nearly bought a Series 3 XJ12 Vanden Plas this summer, I had the opportunity to get it for $2500 Canadian, bring it up here and easily sell it for $6000-7000. However, only hours away from getting it, some dirty guy with a mullet came in and offered more that I wanted to pay for it. I'm probly better off without it, but I was mad that day!
I did drive it plenty though...0-60 was quick, but nothing incredible....140-200 kph (85-120 mph) is what's really impressive...it was still booting it at 200 too, I just backed off because it wasn't my car :finger: Apparently top speed on it is about 250 kph (150 mph). You can watch the gas gauge drop at that speed though! The car had dual tanks, each was like 80 liters...and you're lucky if both of those tanks last you a week
The car had a trip computer, cruising along at 40 mph it said 13 mpg
. I floored it and it dropped to 3 mpg
Beautiful car though. BTW, a post-Stevens redesign Esprit is one of my dream cars...I quite literally plan on getting one after graduation from college....maybe an 1989 SE Turbo or something...we'll see
