I hope to complete this one without major issues; thus I am somewhat limiting the ideas as to what I really want to do with the kit. Happy ending is what I would like.
I have played around with the Scale Finish paints and my report can be found below. I was just applying a layer after layer to see what I get. And also added extra thinner to just see what happens.
No real surprise was there, so I am just happy to continue my paint job.

I primed the whole body and also filled up the mirror mounts and exhaust outlet seam.
I also painted the inside with the body color. If the light gets through (or the plastic is not thick enough), it will darken the outside paint.
When this happens, I would normally paint the interior with silver. Then I can give black interior coat to places where applicable.
This is how my work bench currently looks like.
I actually have a work area in the basement, but it is cold in the winter and it gets quite lonely. I have a small CD player so I can listen to music while working, but that doesn't help much.
So I pulled out a table and started to build in the corner of our library room upstairs. It's nice up here, I get to see outside through a big window too.
So far, my wife hasn't made a big deal out of this and I think I can pull it off as long as I stay out of her radar.
I started the painting process. I gave 2 coats and let my dehydrator take care of the drying clean.
Now my biggest worry is that which clear I should use for this.
I prefer to have "thicker" clear coat that looks "wet" and for that, using acrylic clear is always my primary choice.
Yet, at the same time, I want to stick with lacquer clear for this time. Hmmm....
And to minimize the efforts, I have decided to fix the door open just like this. I think it won't look bad displaying like this.
