Are you talking front or rear suspension? Your Explorer will have torsion bars in the front and semi-elliptic leaf springs in the rear, no coils. I think it's the cutout of the rear wheel wells that makes all these Explorers appear like they are sagging in the rear. Before changing things you should have the ride height checked to confirm if it is actually sagging.

Sagging rear suspension on this solid axle configuration should not really have an impact on tire wear, I'd suspect you have some other issue if rear tire wear is what you're concerned with.
