The locks were then found to be locking and unlocking at random on their own. This sounds like a faulty solenoid or other type of switch but I don't know. Has anyone encountered this before and what was done about it?
I also have a "broken" rear window wiper and don't know how to change this motor or the solenoid (?) switch for this either.
Looks like it ought to be a weekend job for a guy that would be cheaper than a shop.
Thoughts? Recommendations? Suggestions?

Can't help with the random locking/unlocking thing, but I just repaired my rear wiper...there's a great writeup here on how to get it removed
Wiping my rear...I also had the help of the Haynes manual (which sucks, but its better than nothing) I just took mine apart, and had to free up the shaft and gear mechanism, as it had frozen up with corrosion...works great now....
(Thinking about it, I should taken some pics and posted about how to disassemble the motor, but my hands were filthy...lol)
