I have a 2002 cavalier that was jerking while I was driving, no engine light. I cleaned out the intake, MAP sensor, and Idle Air Control Valve and the problem went away. When it gets warmer out, I'm going to take the intake apart and do a good cleaning, and replace the valve and sensor.
