1/20 Tamiya Ferrari F60

I started over the christmas holidays and so far didn't make as much progress as I liked but I thought I'll post it anyway as some might be interested and could gather some infos for their builds... I actually wanted to make this a quick curbside built but first thing I noticed when I got the kit, you have to glue the radiator assembly in place before glueing the bodywork together otherwise it won't fit due to the "extreme" sidepods... So I decided to not glue everything together and just built it like the instructions say (which won't be easy for me ) but I will add some CF decals and the radiator pipes (simply looks hideous without..).

Ok enough, let's start with some pics...
First testfit, BRILLIANT... everything fits together like a dream!

Followed by the first real task, sidepods glued to the chassis (you will get ugly seams if you do it after painting, also for the airintake, which is made out of two parts and these also result in unwanted panel lines... more on that later

Make sure you have enough putty when building this kit, lots of pinmarks (even on top of some wing elements ) and the front of the undertray needs to be assembled with a couple of parts which also needed some putty...

The chrome plated parts are great... you can easily see and remove the mold lines and then put them straight in brake fluid (which by the way did not work very well, the chrome is quite hard to get rid of...)

For the paint I'll use the silver/red F60 color from Zero Paints, no experiments should be good enough for my taste . The red looks really nice...
