Re: The Definitive McLaren F1 Scale Model List.

These Fline F1 GTR models look quite nice when they are closed but opening them reveals more of the errors they made with them. The engine bay is taken from the road car as GTRs did not have the exhausts built to have the crash structures and silencers of a road car (didn't need them). Also all the models seem to have the GTR'95 dual plane/split rear wing and it wasn't attached to the cars as on the model's rear engine cover but directly to chassis. It would have been better not to make the rear engine cover "open" at all if not done correctly with a removable cover as in real GTRs (or LMs). Also the front trunk is weird, like the makers had not seen any photos of a real car's front open, even a road car.

I think Fline did better job with other models they have made (Enzo, SLR, Reventon, Veyron, R8, etc.) and most of them are even much cheaper than the F1. So I'm not so thrilled about it at $199. Fline Reventon's go below $100 and Enzos around $130 so that range would be more suitable in my mind. On such price and the red one having the roof scoop like Nick Mason's 10R has I could maybe even consider buying one.
