PCV Valve Replacement

I just recently replaced my PCV valve. It is the first time this valve has been replaced (my car is now at 138,000 miles). I had originally attempted to just clean the PCV valve with carburetor fluid but, after dropping it and watching it roll under the engine, I decided to replace it. The new PCV valve, although being a cheaper and lower end valve, seems to be in much better condition. I can actually hear the ball valve rattling in it and can blow air through it fairly easily.

After having installed this new PCV valve, I have noticed that my car now idles at about 800 rpm on a warm engine, down from the typical 1100-1200 rpm I had previously before valve replacement. Is this typical?
