You said you needed an everyday car.
Anyways... if your preference is an AWD, then you're better off with a Subaru Impreza.
For me, a good project car would be some old GM muscle car or a kit car.
Personally I'm not into Japanese tuners, but I do recognize that they have some good stuff. But give me an old GM muscle or exotic Italian over them any day.
