Yes, the plastic is very soft. Almost vinyl-like, but instead of flexing a bit, it actually stretching! Terrible, terrible engineering of plastic on Protar's part. The plastic did melt/ deform with just light glue aplication of Tamiya's green cap extra thin cement. And this cement evaporates fast.

I haven't viewed Mr. Fukuda's link on the tires, but I'm sure it'll be helpful. Thanks for your responses felow modellers. This one's gonna give a real challenge.
