The United Nations and the IPCC (Ingergovernmental Panel on Climate Change - i.e. representatives from around the world) published in 2007 that climate change is fundamentally and scientifically factual with repeatable and demonstratable physical evidence, and that the cause of such warming trends is likely caused by human activity. Just recently your own government has declared that C02 is a toxic substance and therefore the EPA can pass regulation as it sees fit.
In the end the environment will outlast humans, so beating up on the planet will really only affect you and me. For those that choose to deny the facts are really only shooting themselves in the foot, mother nature would be just as happy without us building highways and tearing down forests. My point is, even if it takes some effort on our part, I'd like to stay for a while - I quite like it here. What we have is not sustainable, that should be plainly obvious and the longer we march blindly forward the harder the fall when the party ends. But we need innovators and brilliant minds to be working on ways to generate sustainable power, housing, food, transportation, etc. The world already knows there is a problem, the solution gets a little more complicated.

CO2 in extreme amounts is poisonous to Humans because its waste our bodies give off while performing cellular respiration. Guess what plants use? CO2 is one of the BASIC BUILDING BLOCK OF LIFE. Its NOT toxic. Am I saying we should all go out and put off as much CO2 as possible? Hell no, I kinda like my smooth air. But we don't need to spend BILLIONS of $ bullshitting people into crap they don't need.
And just to shake your little skull a tad. During the last, about 10,000 years give or take. The world has been in a warm phase. Guess what comes after that? Yea thats right, it gets really frekin cold. Bottom line, the world goes through climactical changes on a consistent pattern. Humans don't do a damn thing to change that.
