Welcome to AF RooferR!

Sounds like a bad ignition lock cylinder and key, or the ignition switch. No chip in the keys.
Typical of these newer cheaper plastic lock cylinders, parts get damaged easily.
Also if you have a to much weight hanging on your keychain, this can cause simular problems. If so remove excess stuff and see how it does.

If no change you'll need to test and replace the bad parts.

My 99 SE has over 200K on the stock ignition switch and cylinder. I like how I can remove the key while its running. lol
