that is why I will do push button start, one switch will control accessories and ignition contact and the other push button will be used for starting. Accessories switch will be hidden. I will completely remove the steering wheel lock and it will be completely key-less start. Theft system will be bypassed with a resistor.
Not sure what theft system you have, is is small resistor in the Key? If not, then it could be ignition cylinder not making connection with the resistor inside or there is microprocessor inside of your Instrument panel cluster that can go bad and will not read pass lock code.
