Interesting. I don't recall reading about others having this issue. A 2004 seems pretty new to have faulty brake hoses or so much contamination in the system that it would plug passages.

Does this Taurus by chance have traction control or AdvanceTrac? I've bled my 2004 Mountaineer with no issue, but it doesn't have traction control or AdvanceTrac. Since those systems have the potential to apply individual brakes, maybe they require an interface with the computer to be able to properly bleed the brake system as well. I wouldn't expect a proportioning valve or ABS pump to cause the issues you are experiencing.
