I found out I need to order a little $20 cruise control bracket from Edelbrock. Problem solved, hopefully. Now it's on to the problem of my TV cable being the improper length due to the fact that an Edelbrock carb's throttle throw is a 1/4" shorter than the factory Q-jet's throw.

Sorry, I somehow missed this thread. In the linkage on your first picture above, that hole next to the accelerator cable connector is where a 1" stud goes - cruise control connects to this stud.
As for the TV cable problem, Bowtie Overdrives makes a kit for exactly that issue -
