Thanks for bringing up a 5 year old thread.

I wouldn't be surprised if the difference is just in the crank itself, a change in stroke. That I have seen the block bores have been the same, but they change the stroke to change displacement. Same thing old domestic engines did, use the same block and change the stroke.
