You might have it wired incorrectly. The resistor should be connected between the turn signal and ground wires.

I'm not familiar with the resistor part numbers but I'll guess that the "625" means it is a 6-Ohm, 25 Watt resistor. Doing the math for a 6 Ohm load @ 12 V, it translates to a 24 Watt draw through the resistor...pretty high. If you have more than one bulb that are flashing, then you may need a lower Ohm resistor. Refer to this nice little diagram:
