Okay, so i got home and start messing with this thing when i got home. I can see now my question makes no sense haha... there is actually a mechanical cable running from the shifter up to the ignition switch that controls the in-reverse release key thing.
Now the issue is the security light has been on for 6 months or so i guess, i'm assuming this must have happened when the car was running, and it went into fail enable mode, which allowed the car to still run. But when i unhooked the battery last night it is now screwed. I'm guessing there is either a break or loose connection on the YELLOW Passlock wire or the Passlock mechanism itself is screwed.
So now i'm scratching my head thinking of away around this. I could do the resistor thing as mentioned in another post to simulate the Passlock, but that is kinda of a shot in the dark as i don't really know what has failed, and if the wire is actually broke down stream then it will make no difference.
So.. my question now is.. where do the 3 PassLock wires goto? Guess first step is test continuity on them. And does anyone have any idea what resistance that would be?? I'm thinking i could just put a POT on there and mess with it till the Security Light goes out???
Any input guys?
