3100 I could not figure out the postingpic thing but I did get a pic on tiny pic .com
Here is the url
http://tinypic.com1r52qm8j the plug in is right above the green dot.The there is a small black box that the wires plugs in it has 2 vac lines hooked to one goes to the unit that has the green dot the other hooks up on the back to a similar looking unit. The unit with the green dot connects to the large pipe that wraps around the front of the engine. My 2000 had a little pump on the left wheel well that hooked up where u see I made a plug out of a steel rod on the left side of the pic. The 99 does not have the little SMOG ??? pump ont the fender or the wires that goto it. I did not get the pipe that wraps around the front of the motor or gold flex pipes in the assembly when I bought the car. Dont know if they were on the 99 at all.
I thought it was going to be alright to run it that way. But I have 2 thing that I have noticed.
1. With the hood closed you do not notice it and it runs good. When U open the hood you can just barely here that the engine is just barely surging kind ol fast. Like the revlimiter would do but you barely can tell it.
2. The gas gauge is acting really crazy. It had a little over 1/2 Then it was empty then full then empty with the bell dinging then back to half ..... It seemed ok the first day.
The SES light is on so I took it to Advanced they said it was one of the crankshaft sensors. Tried to remove the old one off old block destroyed it. dont want to have to change that under the car that would be tuffff.
If you have any insight I would appreciate it.
Thanks
Steve
