What I was referring to was not the vehicle itself but the engine being resold after it was "supposed " to be destroyed. It would be easier to fly under the radar with an engine rather than a whole vehicle with VIN #. In the early stages of formulating this program, the original intent was to destroy the whole vehicle, parts and all making it unsaleable in parts or as a whole. This would have really put a dent (pun intended) in the used parts market as it would take a sizeable chunk of potential inventory off the market. But as the program details progressed, I see they allowed the vehicle to be taken apart and some of the parts were allowed to be resold, just as long as the engine was destroyed first.There still is a timetable I believe where there must be proof shown that the vehicle , or whatever is left of it has been crushed or shredded. (I think 6 weeks was the original time frame from the opoint of the dealer taking in the CARS program vehicle.)
