I have a 93 s-10 blazer 4.3 with TBI. Was not getting a strong spark so i had the Ignition components tested. Coil, Ignition control module, both checked out Ok.
Replaced cap, plugs, rotor, and wires still had a weak and erratic spark. No codes showed up on the OBD, so i thought about it for a bit and decided to test the coil pick-up. Even though none of the diagnostics i found mentioned this. It tested bad pulled the distributor and replaced the pick up coil, made sure the timing was set to TDC on number 1 cylinder, but now I cannot get my distributor to seat. Have tried everything to get the oil pump shaft to line up. From using a screwdriver, to turning the motor over by hand, to bumping it with the starter. I just cannot get the Distributor to seat.
My question is, there enough play in the oil pump shaft so that the vehicle would have to be sitting level. It is sitting on a bit of an incline right now. I have 210,000 on the engine.
Also the previous owner either lost or just left out the rubber seal around the Ignition control module so moisture got inside which is what caused the failure. What can i use to replace this with, as auto parts stores do not seem to have the part.
