Yes you are psycho but i sulute you!! MR2s are transverse mid engine. only rotary engines I know of are in the Mazda RX series and those are front engine rear drive. Also rotary engins, if i'm not mistaken, are fairly long. if you are going to hook it up midship you may need to do a little, *cough* excuse me, alot of fabrication...

For instance, If you are going to pull the RX7 motor/trans/rear end, bolting it up straight and building a dog house in the cabin and having independent rear suspension may work. Though the front of the engine maybe on your lap, it's the easiest way to make it work.

If you are going to try to find a transverse trans, I'm afraid the engine may be too wide since the MR2 is pretty small. If it does work i'd first check the web if anyone else has done this and/or if any company makes any conversion kits. If there is, d*mn you rock. Keep me posted on this project. It sounds fun.
