Re: Courtesy/Clk fuse keeps blowing

Do you still have the stock radio? It may be possible that the radio is causing this problem especially if you were messing around with it. On my '85 caprice the radio circuit runs off of the courtesy/clock circuit. In other words taking out the CTSY/CLK fuse will also shut off my radio.

Just today I realized that my new radio takes 10 amps and the stock radio fuse is 10 amps... Today I put in a 15 amp fuse and everything is working better and no blown fuses so far. However note that if you have a new radio that needs more than 10 amps you may also need to decrease the wire gauge a bit to accompany that (bigger wire).

Your accessory outlet/cig lighter may also run off of the CTSY/CLK fuse fyi.
