After replacing my fuel sending unit two weeks ago, my car died yesterday. Thinking that I had a blocked fuel filter, I went to tackle that this morning. New inline filter, and nothing.
So, I pull the fuse for the radio, so I can possibly hear the fuel pump, and nada. I swap relays from the AC to the Fuel Pump, nothing. I check the Fuel Pump fuse, still intact. Well, I call the local Honda Stealership, since they are close, and there are NO Isuzu dealers (or remnants) around, and find out that they have to order a fuel pump, and that he can offer me a discount down to $357 something for it. I told him I would get back to him later today, if I needed it.
I get online, and lo and behold, several places have them, from $107 from an eBay store in CA, to a place called Rock Auto (bosch and carter at $383 and $227 respectively). I jumped in and ordered the Carter, with the same warranty as the Bosch.
Did I miss the boat? Is Carter a respected name? I know Bosch, for certain, but trying to save a little cash, did I make a mistake, or hit a home run? While I wait for the part to arrive, I thought I would throw out this info.
Thanks in advance
