The engines are the same, just need to remove the flexplate and install a flywheel (probably need longer bolts for the flywheel, and use loctite on them). You need to weld a bracket on the frame that isn't there for the A/T and cut off the one that is there. And then of course you need every part for shifting (clutch pedal assembly, master cylinder, shifter, cables, etc.) I believe you also need the center console from an M/T car to make it look right.
I'd listen to your dad on this one, way too much work for a car with 115 HP.
