Finally, I've managed to get back into this project this week.

I originally intended to make the car curbside but I'm now thinking I may go for the full monty as I've almost collected enough reference to be able to make all the components.
I started on the chassis based on the plans I've drawn up. I've used brass and alluminium rod and brass tube. The joints are epoxied rather than soldered as I intended it would be a test piece. Having said that, it's very strong as is - already managed to drop it with no ill effects!
Many thanks to Scratchbuild for his idea of using Lego as guide blocks...works a treat!
The main chassis tubes were fun to bend as they are 6mm rod!:sarcasm1:
I used some parts from an old brake pipe bending tool mounted in a homemade jig. It was worth the efforts as I can get the bends spot on and being solid rod means that the shape doesn't flatten around the tool.
Hopefully I'll update more often - now I'm on it!
