Was the timing belt tensioner changed with the timing belt?

could be the tensioner on it's way out. The tensioner can make a rubbing sound, but when they start to get really bad they tend squell.

Have someone rev the engine and you try to narow down where the noise is
coming from.

Do you have a stethiscope?

You might have to take the timing cover off and check the timing belt and tensioner to make sure that nothing is rubbing
