Re: Need Help for first car (muscle)

I have some more pics he sent me, but he's more "computer challenged" than I am, so they're all old fashioned photographs (for the youngsters, that is, the pics are printed on paper...Humor...). The car is a work of art! Very classy "blend" of original '66 Mustang appointments and modern race car equipment. He's actually built a 9 second "show car"!

The front suspension had to be replaced with Mustang II stuff. Shock towers are dead in the road, so they had to go. Rear has been "back halved" and has a 4-link 9" in there now. He's done much of the work himself, but had a pro chassis shop do the suspensions and weld the cage. All the paint and detail are his.

He's supposd to be getting me some pics from the track, with the front wheels "catching air". His buds told him the wheels came up about 4". They laughed at him at first, 'cuz the car was way to "squirrelly" for him. After someone told him to take 10 lbs. out of the back tires, it starting coming to life. He said "I'm starting to get the "hang" of this!" 10.56@129.5 so far... 60' on that pass was in the toilet at 1.66. Between that motor and the rear suspension, it SHOULD 60' about 1.35-1.4. I believe it will go 9.60s before it's all "done". His buds aren't laughing anymore. One even commented on how weird it must be to get a Ford from a Pontiac shop. He used my "line": We don't care WHAT color you paint it, we can build it right!
