The SIR system refers to the air bags on the car. Since the heater core access is underneath, right hand side of the dashboard to the rear of the passenger airbag.

Working in close proiximity to the ab, you willl need to disarm the system. The ab fuse is located on the IP panel left side of dash door jamb area 10a fuse.
