94 Sonoma Starting Issue

Hello gents!

I have a 1994 Sonoma, 2.2l 4cyl, Manual, 2WD, non-abs that wont seem to start.

One night i drove to a friends house, and when i was about 300 feet away i turned the engine off and coasted in natural to a stop and put the e-break on, and locked the truck and went inside.

about 4-5 hours later, I'm leaving and the Truck will crank, But wont Buck, spit, or show any signs of life.

these are the things that I've checked thus far:

  • Spark on all 4cyl, Present with a nice white spark.
  • Fuel pump is powering on, and you can hear the regulator bypassing Fuel.. but i have not checked the PSI.
  • all fuses relating to the ECU/Cranking/spark/fuel,
  • All the grounds that i could see.
  • tried to bump start it in 2nd gear.
  • Connected a ODB-II reader, Didn't read anything Also tried a ODB-I And it didn't read any issues, and the CEL is off.

I'm starting to run out of ideas with this thing...

the only things that I've noticed when driving the truck is at ~2300rpm the engine would have a sudden and temp loss of power, but i traced that to a bad spark plug wire on cyl 3.

Also, When driving at a steady speed regardless of speed, the CEL will turn on but wont turn on but if you drive at different speeds it will not.. ( sounds like a o/2 to me )

Anyone have any suggestions?

Also, where is the ECU located? there is a computer bolted to the break master cyl, but it only has around 8-10 wires connected..

thanks in advance!
